Guglietta, 76. of Ratley died Monday (April 27, 1998) at home. Born in Farmington, he had lived in Hartford, Southwick before moving to West Suffield 29 years ago. He was the General Manager for Bell Pump Company in Hartford for the past 52 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 388 in Southwick, MA, Lions Club, the Melha Temple, the Club in West Springfield, Shaker Dante.

Farms Country Club in Westfield, MA. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He leaves his wife of 53 years, the former Dorothy A. Way; two brothers, Dominic T. of Newington, Patrick of Hartford; three sisters, Filomina M.

Migliore of Glastonbury, Helen Nawrocki of Burlington, Cynthia Presmarita of Wethersfield; a grandson, Jareff Holmes of Enfield. His son Gary D. Guglietta died in 1979. MANNING, Margaret Margaret (Mrs. Stuart Manning who died Monday, (April 27, 1998) at Windham Community Memorial Hospital was born in Malone, NY in 1909. She grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY, but she lived in Connecticut the greater part of her life, first in New London and since 1952 in Storrs. She was a graduate of University of Vermont and a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Mrs.

Manning did graduate work at Columbia University and the University of Connecticut and creative writing at Bowdoin College and Yale University. Prior to her marriage in 1937, to Stuart H. Manning, she taught high school in New London, after several years devoted to her family and community service in New London and Storrs, she joined the Windham High School staff as an English teacher in 1955. During the 18 years at Windham, Mrs. Manning made major contributions both to the academic life of the school and also to extracurricular activities.

Annually, Mrs. Manning's students in her junior English classes distinguished themselves in the field of creative writing by winning both state and national honors in the Parade of Youth Scholastic Writing Contest. She was elected to Delta Kappa Gamma, Theta Chapter, an honorary teaching society, where she held the position of secretary and chair of various committees through the years. Mrs. Manning was very active in the Storrs Community right up to her death.

was a long-time board member of the Mansfield Beautification committee, of which she was one of the founding members from the "Spruce up Storrs" Group. She was active as a member and on the boards or committees of the Women's Fellowship of the Storrs Congregational Church, the Storrs Women's Club and the Garden Gate. Mrs. Manning was given an honorary life membership by the American Association of University Women for having over 50 years of active membership. She was currently a volunteer for the Windham Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Mrs. Manning was a member of the Windham-Tolland Retired Teachers Association, the Connecticut Horticultural Society, the Antiquarian and Handmark Society, the Mansfield Historical Society, the University of Connecticut League, The Frank Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry, The Benton Museum, and a patron of the Jorgensen Auditorium. A memorial service will be held at the Storrs Congregational Church on Saturday, (May 2), 3 p.m. The internment will be private and at the Storrs Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made in her name to the Storrs Congregational Church.

Mary was Born on September 16, 1903, in Fall River, MA until moving to the Hartford area where she lived for a good portion of her life.

In 1990 she moved Portland. She had worked for Colt Firearms in Hartford and before retiring in 1969, she was employed with Royal Typewriter in Hartford. After her retirement, Mary worked for the Parkville Senior Center in Hartford for Twelve years. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews including J. Wendy Neill of Portland, Kelly Pelletier of Middlebury and Carol Neill of Portland.

She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters. A Memorial Mass will be on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., in The Church of St. Mary, Portland. Rev. John F.

Vasile, of New Britain, died Wednesday (April 29, 1998) at a local convalescent home. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Nieckarz) Vasile. Born in New Britain, Mr. Vasile was a lifelong city resident and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, New Britain.

He owned and operated a concession at Raphael's Dept. Store, New Britain for many years. Mr. Vasile was past president and a member of the board of directors of UNICO and was a corporator of the Boys and Girls Club, New Britain. He also served on the City Plan Commission and was a member of Bernadino Battalato Post, New Britain.

Mr. Vasile was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters and -in-law, Drs. Marilyn and Vladimir Lange, of Los Angeles, CA, so Pamela Vasile, of Avon; two grandchildren, Chad and Christina Lange; a brother and sister-in-law, Francis and Mary Vasile, of Plainville; a sister and brother-in-law, Frances and John Scricca, of New Britain; a sister-inlaw, Eleanor Vasile, of Kensington; a brother-in-law and his wife, Tony and Frances Nieckarz and a sister-in-law, Pat Nieckarz, all of Whiting, NJ; a sister-in-law, Sophie Nieckarz, of Southington; many nieces and nephews.

Ethel G. Vasiliou, 76, of Long Hill Middletown, wife of the late William A. Vasiliou died Wednesday (April 29, 1998) at Middlesex hospital. Born in Richmond, VA, she was the daughter of the late John and Constance (Galanis) George. Mrs.

Vasiliou lived in Middletown since 1948 and was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church. She was past Chairwoman of the Middletown Housing Authority and the Middletown Senior Affairs Commission. She was a member of the Middletown Redevelopment Agency and a member of the Board of Directors for the Sports Hall of Fame in Middletown. She was a past District Governor for the Daughters of Penelope and worked for the American Heart Assn.
